When you use Apple Pay, the mobile wallet replaces your card details with a unique and device account number (DAN). Each time you add a card to Apple Pay; a new Device Account Number is created for this card and this is what the merchant or in this case, we see.
FIND YOUR DAN IN 3 STEPS — IPHONE
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down to Wallet & Apple Pay.
Tap the card you used, then tap Card Information — find the Device ID (4 digits different from your card number).
When using Google Pay, the mobile wallet replaces your card details with a unique and device-specific virtual account number. Each time you add a card to Google Pay, a new virtual account number is generated for that card, and this is what the merchant, or in this case, we see during transactions.
FIND YOUR DAN IN 3 STEPS — ANDROID
Open Google Wallet.
Tap the card you used.
Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner — find the virtual account number (4 digits different from your card number).
When you use Samsung Pay, the mobile wallet replaces your card details with a unique and device-specific token. Each time you add a card to Samsung Pay, a new token is generated for that card, and this is what the merchant, or in this case, we see during transactions.
FIND YOUR VIRTUAL NUMBER IN 4 STEPS — SAMSUNG
Open the Samsung Wallet app.
From the "Quick access" tab, scroll to and tap your Digital ID. Verify via fingerprint or PIN.
Once verified, your card details are shown.
Find the virtual account number — 4 digits different from your physical card.
If you paid by a physical card, please enter the first six card digits and the last four printed on the card. If you paid using your phone or smartwatch (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.), use the last 4 digits of the virtual card shown in your wallet app.
Did you tap your phone or watch to pay? That's a contactless digital payment — please select Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay instead.
